JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Arts, Humanities and Education Facilities/Equipment Manager with some work assigned and supervised by the Music Program Faculty, the Position supports the Les Paul Studio and related Music programs. The Position oversees student aides and students performing lab hours in their work for class assignments. The position must work a very flexible schedule, including many nights and weekends.

Examples of Duties


Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervises Paid Student Aides

Assist Students, Staff and Faculty in the usage of the the Les Paul Studio and Electronic Music Lab

Provides Technical Support in the operation of the Music Program Facilities

Assist in Scheduling of Lab Time Sessions.

Maintains Inventory for Music Instruments and Equipment.

Performs routine maintenance to Music instruments and equipment and in conjunction with the CA Facilities/equipment and/or Music Faculty

Meets regularly with the CA Facilities manager to determine work schedule and assignments.

Qualifications


Compensation:
This is a 10-month, part-time Graduate Assistant position that requires 20 hours per week.

Compensation includes a $10,000 stipend and up to $8,000 in tuition reimbursement.

Period of Contract:

September 2026 -June 2027 (renewable); 20 hours per week
Education/Experience

Requirements:
  • Enrollment in a graduate program at Ramapo College or another college/university for a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester or two (2) courses per semester, whichever is greater, during the academic year;
  • Proof of course enrollment and good academic standing each semester;
  • Active and satisfactory academic progress towards completion of a graduate degree in an approved graduate (Master's) program with a transcript provided to the Supervisor(s)/Human Resources Department at the end of each semester;
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher; and
  • Good academic standing during the term of the contract.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse population of artists, faculty, students, and staff and be able to meet flexible work schedule requirements, in particular, nights and weekends.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

EDUCATION:

Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Production or related field.
